Winter Is Coming; Be Prepared With Fall Maintenance

Whether you're ready for summer already or you love the winter season; it's on its way. Fall is here and, along with the pumpkins, turkey, candy, and leaves, it's also brought the urgency of preparing our world around us for the impending cold weather months ahead. This preparation also includes your Fall vehicle maintenance.

Fall vehicle maintenance is simply making sure that your vehicle is ready for ice, snow, and freezing temperatures that your car will face. While there are many routine maintenance issues that we suggest, here are three that you can do right from your garage.

  1. Windshield Wiper Fluid - Don't wait until it's too late. Simply pop open the hood, find the windshield wiper fluid cap, look inside, and see if it requires more fluid. Driving without it in the winter can be dangerous, especially when there's more slush than snow.
  2. Winter Supplies - You never know what to expect in Minnesota. Maybe we won't have snow until after Christmas or maybe we'll receive our first dusting in the Fall weeks ahead. Whatever the case, it's best to be prepared for any type of accident. Make sure you have a foldable shovel, bottles of water, a first aid kit, blankets or warmer clothes, extra food, a flashlight, and maybe even some kitty litter or sand to help get you out of a slippery spot.
  3. Light Check - Make sure that all of your headlights and taillights are working. While you're inspecting your vehicle, it's always a good idea.

There are many other Fall vehicle maintenance suggestions that we have as well. From oil changes and tire switches to brake inspections and tire alignments, we recommend contacting our service center to learn more or scheduling a service appointment today!
